Google indexes new pages instantly

I just posted an article about Google lowering it’s own PAGERANK from 10 to 9. I was surprised the find that the minute that I posted the article, that it was instantaneously indexed and ranked on Google on page 1.

This flies in the face of ‘it takes months sometimes weeks to see changes in Google’s listings’.

The bottom line is, for anyone who is interested in increasing their search rankings, there is no delay in Google indexing or ranking your site. You WILL see results immediately, if they are effective.

My question to the more experienced Google user’s out there is this….was my post ranked instantly because I already have high rankings in Google? Does it have something to do with the fact that I use Google Analytics and Webmaster tools for this site?

I would love to hear from you about your Google searching, indexing and ranking anecdotes.

Here’s the url for the ranking of the post in this discussion.

Google indexes pages instantly

To recap, Google will instantly and immediately index and rank new pages and blog posts that you upload to your website. It’s not like the old days when you had to wait weeks or even months to see improvements in your search results.
